Not Chillin at Chillis

Location, Location! Last time we went to Chilli’s it was the location on Pinhook, and I gave them 5 starts, but this time we went to the location on Ambassador Caffery and it was not like the one on Pinhook. The service was horrible, the food and the overall restaurant wasn’t as fun as the one on Pinhook. So I’m taking two starts away, one for the service, one for the overall atmosphere.

  • The Kritic Says:
    • 3 Starts
    • The food tasted good
    • The service was horrible, we waited very long, the waitress wasn’t happy, and did not check on our table.
    • The prices were good
    • The place was clean and had entertainment for kids

Food Garden

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I hope you are having a great day. So, I went to Olive Garden on 5743 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA – 70503. Let’s start by saying that when you get there the smell makes you think that everybody took their shoes off, but it’s okay, is just the cheese, and I love cheese! So I ordered cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks, but kids can create their own spaghetti and order other things. My mom ordered calamari, chicken alfredo, which came with delicious bread and salad, and then as dessert tiramisu. If you read my Chillin at Chilli’s, Olive Garden has the same ipads with games that can entertain kids, they also give you coloring sheets and crayons. The only thing I didn’t like is that although the restaurant wasn’t full, the service was horrible. The lady at our table brought us food but no utensils, we had to wait long to start eating our food, with our food in front of us. They also had a fly inside the restaurant, I’m glad it didn’t touch our food.

The Kritic says:

  • 2 1/2 Starts
    • The food tasted and look very good
    • Service was not good
    • They had a fly inside the restaurant and that’s not good
    • They had entertainment for kids but it was cold in there
    • Mommy didn’t complain about the price and she gave the waiter a good tip, but we won’t go there again for sure

Chillin At Chili’s

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry I haven’t done a post in a while, I was busy! Ok, so now let’s talk about Chilli’s. Chili’s Grill & Bar is located at 1734 W. Pinhook Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508. Chilli’s is a good place for kids. They have ipads for kids where they can play so many games and you don’t have to pay for it. I loved that! We went to celebrate a friend of Mom that was getting married, Mr. Guru, and our table was huge, more than twenty people. I ordered pizza, my mom ordered southwestern egg rolls and chicken/steak fajitas. It all tasted very delicious and Mom said the prices were good too. So, that’s that ladies and gents, have a good break.

The Kritic Says:

  • 5 Starts
    • The food was delicious
    • The service was great, we were many but the waiter was great

Pizza Is Art

Hello ladies and gentlemen, today I went to Pizza Artista and it is a great place. It’s located at 5904 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA – 70503. It’s very clean and fun. I got a cheese pizza with cheddar and feta cheese. My sister got pepperoni pizza and mom got some weird pizza with no tomato sauce, just olive oil, corn, with carrots (who in that world puts carrots in their pizza?! My mommy I tell you) and a bit of chicken. Guess what? You create your pizza. Not with your hands, but you can tell them exactly what you want and see them prepare it right there in front of you. Also, you don’t have to go to a restroom to wash your hands, they have a machine where you can wash your hands. They are very nice so leave them a comment, its right by the corner where you get the crayons and coloring paper. That helps them improve or know they are doing a great job. That’s that ladies and gents, have a great day.

The Kritic Says:

  • 5 Starts
    • The food was delicious and fresh
    • The service was great, they are all very nice
    • The prices were good
    • The place was very clean and had a lot of things for kids to do

Newsworthy

Hello ladies and gents. Well, I made the newspaper and you might have heard of it and if you didn’t I’m going to tell you what happened. The Daily Advertiser, the Lafayette, Louisiana newspaper, interviewed me. I was so excited, but I was also nervous. Too much pressure and responsibility representing my city. But it was fun. We went to Agave Mexican Cantina & Grill located downtown at 200 E. Vermillion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501. I ordered a chicken quesadilla that came with rice and beans, the chicken was a bit burned, the beans had cheese on it, and the rice was soggy. But my mom ordered crab cake pasta and loved it. So I gave them a…a…a…read all about it by clicking this link.

It Is Crawfish Time Baby!

Hello guys!

I’m back with a new place. I went to Crawfish Time on 320 Ridge Road, Lafayette, LA 70506 and if you are from Lafayette, Louisiana, crawfish is nothing new for you. But if you are not, like mommy’s two new friends, crawfish is something you must try. Even if you don’t like it, you must at least try it once.

So, when you get there, you order your drink and you must tell them how many pounds of crawfish you want. Also, you can choose if you want it spicy or not. They have kids meals and shrimp, corn, mushroom, potatoes, but you must try crawfish, unless you are allergic to seafood, then don’t. You can make your own crawfish sauce by mixing mayo, ketchup, and garlic sauce, it’s delicious and my ratings is four starts and that’s that ladies and gentlemen.

P.S. The cool part is that you can get a bib and gloves, that was funny.

The Kritic Says:

  • 4 starts
    • The food looks great and tastes even better, you just have to know the secret about pealing crawfish.
    • The service is a bit slow when they are very busy.
    • Prices are high, but that’s because crawfish has a season
    • Even with all the crawfish small and shell, the place is clean and looks nice.

Let’s Zorba

Hello ladies and gents, it’s been long since I’ve done a blog post. Mommy has been busy and I can’t post without her permission. I went to few more places and got invited to judge an event. But let’s start with my trip to Zorbas on 1812 W. Pinhook Rd, Lafayette, La 70508.

I like this place and I can tell you that my rating is four and a half starts. I met the owner who was very nice and I could see the chef cook my food. The burger was handmade, the size was huge, and they had healthy options. I ate hummus, a classic cheeseburger and cheese sticks. It tasted great. I just wished they had coloring sheets for my sister, so she wouldn’t bug me when I’m checking the place out. That’s that ladies and gentleman, stay on the look out for my other post this week.

The Kritic Says:

  • 4 Starts ½
    • The food tasted and looked great
    • The food was fresh and cooked in front of you
    • The prices were good
    • The place was nice and clean

Bon Appétit Lafayette!

Hello Everybody!

Let’s be honest, when you hear the word “crêpe” and you don’t know what it is, it’s a bit intimidating. I love pancakes, so when mommy told me that crêspes were like thinner pancakes, I wasn’t very happy. I like my pancakes the way they are. But boy was I wrong. I loved La Crêperie Bistro. They are a French place but with a nice mixture of other Mediterranean countries and even a bit of Latin America. The address is 1921 Kaliste Saloom Rd. #116, Lafayette, LA 70508.

I had a hot chocolate and the Swiss panini. My sister had the chicken and cheese kid crêpe, and mommy had the Mediterranean. I also decided to order the S’more. Fact,  it is big and you may not finish it! You also have to pick different chocolates, pick Nutella, it is very good. Also, if you don’t like sauces, just ask them to put on the side. I met the chef and he is nice and he is good at cooking. I liked it so much I went back and got my hot chocolate again, tried the ham and cheese kid crêpe, and tasted my sister’s omelette and my mommy’s Alfredo. My rating is five starts, and that’s that.

The Kritic Says:

  • 5 starts
    • The food looked and tasted very good.
    • The prices were good. I could pay for the food with my allowance. But mommy paid.
    • They treat kids well and have a chalkboard that kept my sister busy.
    • The place is very clean and nice.
    • The chef is cool. He talks to you and if you don’t want something in the menu he makes your food the way you want, and you can see him cook it too.
