Brick & Spoon

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great week.

Today I want to tell you about my second assignment for EatLafayette. They sent me to Brick & Spoon located at 1895 W. Pinhook Rd., Lafayette, LA 70508.

They greeted me well and the waiter was very nice. The place looked bright and the decoration was cool. They had coffee beans sacks on the walls. I spoke with the owner, Ms. Connie, and she said it was because they used to brew the coffee. But here are the news you will hear here first:

1. Brick & Spoon will soon start offering school nights. On Tuesdays, they will open the restaurant at night and invite schools to come. Kids can dress like superheroes and have lots of fun.

2. Soon, because Brick & Spoon is only open for breakfast and lunch, the owner will open another restaurant called Capone. Like the mafia guy, but not bad like him. But with the style of his time. The walls, chairs, everything will have a decoration from that time.

But let’s get back to the food, the reason why you really have to go to Brick & Spoon. I called them sophisticated home cooking, because the stuff in the menu is just like what we cook at home but with a fancy and unique touch to it.

I first got chocolate milk to drink. I had never tasted chocolate milk like that. It was great. Then I got the Shrimp & Tasso Mac-N-Cheese and Café Beignets. It tasted so good. Beignets came with plenty powdered sugar, marmalade, and strawberries. The 🍤 & Tasso was soooooo delicious, that I give this place 5 starts. That’s that ladies and gentlemen have a great day.

The Kritic says:

  • 5 starts
    • The atmosphere is nice, very kid friendly and relaxing.
    • The service is great.
    • The food is too delicious to describe. Also, this location is where they try new dishes, so you can try new delicious things there.
    • The prices are very affordable.
    • They have activities for kids.

Make sure to check this and other places around Lafayette. For more information and to get great discounts, check the EatLafayette web site, Facebook page and other social media to know what’s going on.

Café 20.3 on the Bayou

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I hope you are having a great day. School starts today so I hope your kids are ready. I’m not, but we have to do what we have to do.

I have big news for you. I have partnered with EatLafayette. So now, they send me to places and I eat there and tell you all about it. So here is the first place they sent me to, Café 20.3 located at 1500 General Mouton, Lafayette, LA 70501.  I was so excited I checked it online before going, but when we got there the coolest thing about the spot wasn’t ready, the tables by the bayou.

But it was okay because the inside was nice, a bit small but nice. I got bacon 🥓 cheese 🧀 fries 🍟 for a starter. I liked it. The cheese was melted and it was seasoned well. I also ordered a kid’s meal, the bacon cheeseburger 🍔. It was huge. I could barely finish it. It was delicious. The bun was great and the bacon was crispy.

I also had a lemonade and it was good as usual. My sister ate a grilled cheese with bacon and she loved it. Mom had the strawberry 🍓 mango smoothie and she loved it also.

I got to speak with the manager, and he was very nice. I suggested they add alligator to the menu because the place has Cajun food, might as well add alligator. He told me the outside should be ready soon. I give this place 4 starts. That’s that ladies and gentlemen have a great day.

The Kritic says:

  • 4 starts
    • The place is very small, but it’s cool and clean.
    • The manager and the two ladies that served our table were very nice. But one of the ladies messed up my order (she should have written it) and we had to wait longer for my burger. But it was okay because the manager fixed it.
    • The food tasted very delicious.
    • My food was free, but I still looked at the prices. The portions are big and the prices are very affordable.
    • The outside wasn’t ready, but when is ready that would be a cool place to chill. But bring mosquitoes repellent.

Thank you for reading my blog guys. Did you know that if you say “EatLafayette” when you go to many restaurants you get a discount? Awesome right? Want to know more? Check out EatLafayette now.

Healthy Mediterranean

Hello ladies and gentlemen, Kritic here! I’m on vacation, but I’m passing by to tell you about a place I went few weeks ago – Zoës Kitchen. This restaurant is located at 201 Settlers Trace Blvd Suite 2014, Lafayette, LA 70508. That’s in the River Ranch area.  So, the food is Mediterranean, but is not like Zeus or Athena. It’s different and they try to make it fresh and healthier. I had a ham and cheese piadina, my mom had chicken and cauliflower rice bowl, my mom’s friend had hummus and kabob, and my sister had chicken and fruits.

They had many drinks to pick from and everybody was very nice. The place looked nice, but the food did not taste good. The rice had no taste, the limeade was okay, but the panini had too much lettuce and the cheese wasn’t tastier. My mom loved her cauliflower rice bowl, but my sister didn’t like her chicken either. The hummus was also okay. So, for me Zoës Kitchen is a 2.5 starts, but maybe adults like it because its very healthy. But back to my vacation, that’s that ladies and gentleman don’t go to Zoës Kitchen if you love meat.

The Kritic Says:

  • 2.5 Starts
    • The people were very nice.
    • The place looks nice.
    • But the food doesn’t taste too good.
    • Is not expensive but I was mad for the money we spend on my food.
    • No activities for kids.
