Last Review of the Year: Scratch

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great day. As I am writing this there are less than four hours till the new year. For my last review I have chosen Scratch Farm Kitchen. Why? Because this is one of the best restaurants in Lafayette. Plus it is something we need for the new year – eat healthier. Scratch is located at 406 Garfield St, Lafayette, LA 70501 and you should check it out.

When we arrived it was a very cozy place and really clean. Everything is farmed by them or locally purchase, and prices are okay. Really, not too expensive. I ordered grapefruit juice and a scratch burger with bacon. The grapefruit juice was sour but if you put some sugar it tastes like you swallowed sugar cane and a lemon at the same time… I know you haven’t done that before.

The burger was juicy the bacon was crispy but not too crispy it was wonderful. I rate the place 4 stars. It’s a new year, new me, no more starts. I give it a 4 only because the other drinks were really sour, but they make vegetables delicious. So, that’s that ladies and gentlemen happy new year.

P.S the other dink’s were orange juice and lavender lemonade.

The Kritic Says:

  • 4 Stars
    • The place has a very cozy atmosphere.
    • They don’t have activities for kids.
    • The food is great. Organic. Grown locally.
    • Prices are okay.
    • Service was also okay.

French Press

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great day.  Today I went to a place downtown called the French press. It is located at 214 E. Vermilion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501.

I really did not want to go, and it did not help that they had an event and they had no tables and the service was so slow. I ordered the orange juice and it was really concentrated, but the hot chocolate was good. I had the Acadian Breakfast Sandwich and Chicken & Waffles. I started to try the chicken and waffle, with syrup and cheese. It was amazing, it just went together, the waffle was fluffy and the chicken was crunchy. Then I tried the sandwich and it was really good because the egg yolk was running, the bread was toasted, and the bacon was crispy.

I also tried my mom’s grits and my sister’s french toast and pancakes. Can we say delicious?! I suggest you go to this place but call before because of the table and event situation. The food was amazing it was just the drinks and the place that made me give it 4.0 starts. That that ladies and gentlemen have a great day.

The Kritic says:

  • 4 starts
    • Food tastes great
    • Prices are okay
    • The waiting time was too long
    • They didn’t have activities for kids
    • The decoration of the place was okay

It’s That Season Yet? 🦞

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great day. By the title you can tell what probably this post is going to be about. Yep, crawfish season. I’m ready. Is it season already? Today I’m going to give you another throwback of when I went to a place with a drive thru called The Crawfish Spot. Is is located at 1899 W Pinhook Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508.

It was small but I did like the paintings. I got spicy crawfish and seven pound of it. I like how the bibs had pockets so if it falls you can still eat it. The seasoning was fine. But I like the dip the most which was only 75 cents. I gave crawfish spot a 4.0 starts and I’m ready to go back.  That’s that ladies and gentlemen go get yourself some crawfish and have a great day.

The Kritic says:

  • 4 Starts
    • The spot is small but is very cozy
    • The food is delicious
    • The prices are high, but that’s the expected with crawfish
    • If you don’t like crawfish they have other options
    • They clean the place and pick up your tray very quickly

Is That an Avocado?

Hello ladies and gentlemen Hope you’re having a good day, let’s get right into today’s blog. I went to La Pagua located at 5425 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA 70503.

I had a cheese enchilada and a burger. First they gave us salsa chips, those chips were so hard that it could mess up your mouth. But the enchilada was actually not that bad I can’t say much on it because to me it was really basic, plenty of cheese, sauce, and meat. The burger was basic also. So really I would give it a 3.5 starts, but my mom gave me some of her fajita steak, chicken and shrimp and it hit the spot. That’s a must try. That’s that ladies and gentlemen have a great day.

The Kritic says:

  • 3.9 starts
    • The place looks nice
    • It was a very busy night and service was slow
    • The food tasted okay
    • They have activities for kids and they also had a live band, but it was too loud inside

Blazing Pizza

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great day. All my friends have been talking about Blaze Pizza, so I finally went during my school break. It was kind of like Pizza Artista but with less choices. So I got a one topping pizza. I got pepperoni. The service was quick and the pizza was ready very fast, well I mean it was on a 530 Fahrenheit oven.

It was good and I ate a lot, although I couldn’t stand that the pizza was a bit burn, they had no straws, and the lemonade was horrible.

But overall I gave blaze pizza a 3.5. Have a great day ladies and gents.

The Kritic says:

  • 3.5 Starts
    • The place was nice and clean
    • The food tasted great
    • The prices were good
    • I didn’t see any activities for kids like Pizza Artista has.

Kitchenary

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great day. I am back in Louisiana after two months away. Yes! The posts you saw in June and May were old posts. But this one is fresh, a cool place I went last week, on Friday.

My mom suggested to go to a place called The kitchenary Cafe. When we entered I was kind of confuse because it was a store, but then I saw a small restaurant inside. It is located at 456 Heymann Blvd., Lafayette, LA 70593, and you have to bring your kids to try the food there.

They don’t have lemonade, so I decided to have water and red beans and rice with cornbread. They gave me my food very quick. I first took a bite of the corn bread and instantly loved it because it incorporated cheese and it was soft and tasty. Then I tried the red beans and rice and it was delicious, I just wished it had more spice. Overall I liked the place and would go there again. I give this place a 4.5 starts. That’s that ladies and gentlemen hope you are enjoying your summer.

The Kritic says:

  • 4.5 Starts
    • Nice and different atmosphere. Bring only well behave kids so they don’t break the stuff in the store.
    • Service was quick.
    • The food was very good. That cornbread was unique and delicious.
    • Prices are good and the food portion is good too.
    • They don’t have lemonade but you can watch the chef prepare your plate right there, that’s cool.

Panda Express

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great day. Me and my friend went out to eat at a glorious place… Panda Express. That’s located at 4531 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy, Lafayette, LA 70508 and it is delicious! You can pick what you want so I ate a bunch of chicken. I absolutely loved them all, but some were full of onions and the onions in the noodles overpowers it. But hey, the chicken was so good I wanted more. I give this place 4.0 starts, it is quick and it hits the spot. That’s that ladies and gentlemen have a great day.

The Kritic Says:

  • 4.0 Starts
    • Clean and nice buffet set up
    • The food is delicious
    • The prices are affordable
    • No kids activities but they have tons of TVs like a sports restaurant
    • Service is quick

Papa Loca

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Hope you are having a great day. I went to a place called La Papa Loca. It is a very small place but clean, it stays on 3701 Cameron St, Lafayette, LA 70506. Here is the thing, they could fix their parking space, but until then let’s focus on the food.

Best tacos I ate in town. You read it right. Best tacos in Lafayette, Louisiana. I got quesadillas that were different than all the others I’ve eaten, and I also got a beef taco. The quesadilla had shredded chicken and of course melted cheese but, the chicken overtook the cheese though. The quesadilla tortilla was way better than the tortilla of the beef taco. But guys, the meat of the beef taco was something else. The beef of the taco was outstanding it was perfect I suggest you put lime on the beef, but the tortilla could have been better.

What made me so happy was they had passion fruit juice. I give this place a 3.0. That’s that ladies and gentlemen hope you have a great day.

The Kritic Says:

  • 3.0 Starts
    • The place is very small and when is packed is not very comfortable, take the food to go.
    • The food is delicious.
    • Service takes time.
    • They don’t have any activities for kids.
    • Did I mentioned that the food is good? Those tacos!!!!!
