IHop or IHob?

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great summer. Mine is going great. So I want to talk to you about IHop, or is it IHob? You must know now that it’s IHop, but because they serve breakfast and awesome burgers they had this publicity to make people talk more and check them out. The publicity worked because a lot of people started talking, going there, and that includes me.

I went there for a late breakfast and the place is still the same, new menus, but same service and deals. My sister and I had a silver five, the bacon was crispy, the eggs were a little buttery, and the pancakes were the best. But here is the best, from 4PM to 10PM, kids eat for free at IHop, more ways for me to eat pancakes while your mom tries the burgers and all the other stuff they have in the menu. Knowing my mom, not. She is not about that pancake life.

I give IHOP 5 starts and thats that ladies and gentlemen have a great day.

The Kritic Says:

  • 5 Starts
    • Great service when they are not packed
    • Kids are welcome and feel good at IHOP
    • They have activities for kids.
    • The prices are also okay. I can pay for my own food if I want to.
    • The food is so good. I could eat pancakes everyday.

A Sea of Food

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Hope you are having a great day. I’m having an okay day. On Tuesday, March 19, 2018, I went to A Taste of Eat Lafayette, an event with many restaurants here in Lafayette giving you a taste of what they cook. It was great! I loved it because I could taste food from so many places in one place. But the food ran out soon, and they didn’t have juices. Also, around 7 PM they also ran out of water. They only had drinks for adults and soft drinks. I don’t drink soft drinks. But I liked that they had a Coca-Cola Machine that you hugged and it gave you a drink, but everybody I know that tasted that Coke didn’t like it. It came in a green can. It had a bad taste. But back to the food guys.

Some food tasted good, some not so much. They had huge lines, so I didn’t get to taste much, but the grilled fish from Delcambre Seafood Market was great, Veronica’s Café chicken fricassé was also good. Emerge Kitchen had nice little tasty bars and Bj’s chicken was also very delicious. I ate Tribe Collective’s roasted garlic chicken two times, but I didn’t like their balsamic chicken. I also didn’t like a spinach dip, and other food that was salty. I met many chefs and talked about food with them.

I give this event 4 starts and a half, and definitely recommend you attend it next year. It was fun and made me aware of more restaurants and their delicious food! That’s that ladies and gentleman, have a good one.

The Kritic Says:

  •  4 1/2 Starts
    • The event was in the Cajundome Convention Center, the place was clean, not too crowded, and it was well organized.
    • My mom and I didn’t have to pay for the tickets, but if we had to it was okay. They had so many restaurants that it would have made it okay.
    • They had a seafood competition and they crowned the winner, that was cool to watch. Plus I like Blue Dog’s food, so I agree. They also had a coke machine that you could hug. That was fun to do.
    • They didn’t have juices, ran out of water and food. Also, they had so many restaurants that they need big signs to label it. Many times I tasted food and didn’t know exactly from what restaurant because they were all together and very close.
    • Everybody was nice and I got to know more places, taste more food and now bug my mom to take me to many places so I can see the menu and see if I really like it.

FIL 2018

Hello ladies and gentlemen hope you are having a great day. It’s been a while, but it’s summer and I’m back. So I wanted to tell you about the stuff I’ve been up to.

First, let’s talk about Festival International. I went there to introduce two bands, Ladama and Casa Samba, but of course I tasted the food also. Mom gave me $20 dollars and told me to see if I could “festival” with that amount. But the pin that helps keep festival free was $10, so I was left with $10 to get a drink and food. It was enough but I wanted to try more foods and I was hungry, so mom just paid for the other restaurants.

I ate paella from Pamplona, hummus from Poseidon’s, and fried shrimp with fries from Norbert’s. It all tasted great, but the paella rice was mushy. It was fun presenting at festival and being there with my mom and my sister, but I didn’t like that people smoked a lot, although they had signs that they weren’t supposed to smoke. I also saw drunk people sleeping on the sidewalk. That’s not nice. My bracelet for the drinks wouldn’t loosen up, so I had to cut it off and next day it was awkward to use it. Mom also said that the merchandise was very expensive, but the music was good and we had a great time.

Well that’s that ladies and gentlemen have a great day and come back tomorrow for my next post on my talk at the Lafayette Public Library.

Aussie Land In Acadiana

Hello ladies and gents,

I hope you are having a great day. So I went to Outback Steakhouse located at 1600 West Pinhook Drive, Lafayette, LA 70508 and it was tremendously good. I ordered the ribs and Aussie fries with lemonade. Mom ordered lobster tails, and my sister ordered chicken tenders. I also ordered the Joey Sirloin, well done of course. It was all delicious, but the lemonade was a little watery. The fries were crispy which I loved. But what I really loved was the bread and butter. My sister and I decided to time them, to see how long it would take them to cook our food, and guys it literally took less than twelve minutes from the time we ordered to the time we got our food.

Their children’s menu was also fun. We got to know more information about Australian animals, we played games, and we googled facts about biggest fish and reptile in the world.

In my book I give outback 4.5 starts ladies and gentlemen, and that’s that. Have a great day.

The Kritic Says:

  • 4 1/2 Starts
    • The place had a relaxing feeling, I liked it.
    • They had a menu for kids with a lot to chose from, took me a minute to pick. I ended up picking two things.
    • The food tasted great and it was prepared fast.
    • Our server kept forgetting few things, but the service was nice and when I asked him a question he answered me, not my mom.
    • Prices were okay mom said.

Crazy Chicken

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I hope you are having a great day so I went to the new spot in Lafayette, Louisiana, El Pollo Loco located at 3808 Johnston Street. The buzz and all the hype about this place was legit. It was packed, but still clean. They had fast service and the food it’s like fast food but healthier. Outside the tables had nothing set, no napkins, no condiments, we kept having to go in and out. But the mac & cheese was delicious. The chicken was crispy, soft, and tasted great. I had a lemonade it was normal, but mom was all excited they offered Vitamin D water. I also had the perfectly melted cheese quesadilla, tasted the rice, pinto beans, and the corn. It tasted like home food. However, the queso dip was ok, I expected more. Also, the chips really had nothing to it. Also, the churros were not my favorite, too much oil. I give it 4.0 starts for a fast food restaurant. Well that’s that ladies and gents.

The Kritic Says:

  • 4 Starts (for a fast food restaurant)
    • The place was clean and the decoration was nice
    • The food tasted like a home meal, fast food but kinda healthier
    • I liked that they had many people that could speak Spanish
    • The prices were good

Illegal To Be So Delicious

Hello ladies and gents hope you are having a great day. So, some people (my friends at school) wanted me to share my opinion about Izzo’s Illegal Burrito. Lafayette has two locations, one on Ambassador and another on Johnston street. The one on 2010 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA 70503 is my spot. I love this restaurant and can’t have enough of it. It’s perfect for a quick delicious and still healthy bite. I always get a chicken quesadilla, chips and queso, and a lemonade. They take their time, but the cheese is melted, the chicken cut the way I like and well cooked but not burned. The queso sauce is also delicious with the chips not too thin or thick, just perfect. On Mondays they have activities for kids and adults can choose what they want in their burritos. I really like this place and how they ask me, not my mom, what I want, how I want it, and take their time to explain the stuff to me. For this and the whole atmosphere of the place, Izzo’s Illegal Burrito gets a 5 starts, is just that good.

The Kritic Says:

  • 5 Starts
    • This is a very laid back and fun spot to bring your kids. I love when Mom says we can go there.
    • The food is fast, but is still healthy. It all depends on you.
    • The prices are good. The service is great.
    • They have activities for kids, special prices for kids and a great menu for kids.
    • The place is clean and the decoration is cool, kinda like a sports place.

Chipotle

Hello ladies and gents, hope you are having a great day. So, this review is about Chipotle Mexican Grill located at 4231 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy #101, Lafayette, LA 70508. The place looked really neat. I had been there before, for one of the rewards for the Public Library Summer Reading Program, but I went back for my research of the best quesadilla in Lafayette, LA. I love quesadillas, and the seasoning of Chipotle’s chicken quesadillas was good but the chips that came with the children’s menu were too thin. The black beans were not that great either, it tasted like red beans and the seasoning of the rice was tasteless. They got 3.5 starts and that’s that ladies and gents.

The Kritic Says:

  • 3 1/2 Starts
    • The place was clean and the decoration was simple and straight to the point
    • Their quesadilla tasted good, but everything else didn’t
    • They were nice and patient explaining the menu
    • The prices were okay

Namaste and Namaskar to Masala

Ladies and gent, you hear so many things about Indian food, that it is spicy, that it smells, that it doesn’t look good. How about you hear this: it is delicious! I’ve been eating my Mom’s curry for years, and Mom I’m sorry but your curry is not even close to Masala’s food (I love you Mom but their food was great). Masala is located at 2208 Kaliste Saloom Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508 and we went there for my friend Rohan’s birthday and kept going back over and over. You should try it, if you don’t like it, they also have grilled cheese, chicken tenders and corn dogs. Mom ordered chicken and shrimp korma with garlic naan, my sister and I tasted it and loved it. I tried butter chicken, cheesecake and a mousse dessert. Ladies and gents, they get a 5. Yep! That’s that ladies and gents, have a great week.

The Kritic Says:

  • 5 Starts
    • The food was very delicious
    • The service was great, we were many but the waiter was great
    • The prices were good
    • The place was clean and had entertainment for kids
    • The owner sometimes comes out and asks us how everything tastes. I like that. It shows that he cares.
